HOME NEWS STALLIONS MARES YOUNGSTOCK FOR SALE ARCHIVES LINKS

Cob Sales - Oct 2007

Despite not actually going to the cob sales myself this year I have purchased a new welsh cob mare as another 'wife' for Leo (Floreat Dandelion). She is called Vinians Calon and is by Tynged Calon Lan out of Uplands Delight by Parc Commando and covered by Brynmelys Enchanter. I think her bloodlines should "knit" well with Leo and look forward to seeing what she produces by him in the future. Nice too to have a dark bay for a change!

Fayre Oaks Sale - Sept 2007

We travelled up to Fayre Oaks sale on saturday morning in the lorry with 2 ponies to sell at the end of Sunday afternoon. We were also lucky enough to be invited to dinner for the high flyer sale which was great fun !
The ponies that we took up to be sold were Floreat Yaffle - 2yr old ch gelding (unsold) and Floreat Kir Royale - 3yr old dark bay gelding (sold). We were very pleased to have chance to meet and chat to the purchasers of Kir Royale and it seems to be a great home. We look forward to seeing him out in ridden classes in future.

Riding Club Championships - Sept 2007

The Floreat stud was represented at the RC national championships at Lincoln by Floreat King Bee (Welsh D) ridden by my daughter Lexy. She qualified for the Riding Test - so in this case more down to the rider than the pony! We all travelled up for the weekend in the lorry and had a really fun weekend - it was a great experience for Mick that hopefully will stand him in good stead for future big shows to come.

Pairs Dressage - July 2007

Floreat Angie (ridden by Sarah) and Floreat King Bee (ridden by Lexy) competed in the area riding club pairs dressage competition. These two cobs are both palomino and both ex Kentchurch Whisper. It took a lot of practice including writing our own test and moving Angie to be at same yard as Mick for preceeding 2 weeks for practice sessions to happen more easily, but we had great fun and they looked great together!
